Chris Bucher is an award-winning, Indianapolis-based photographer whose work, assignments and clients are extremely diverse. Over the past few years, Chris has been the recipient of great accolades for his documentary style, fine art photography of an inner city boxing gym. This project has produced numerous images that have been shown in galleries all over the country and overseas, culminating in an upcoming solo exhibition of these stunning images.

Many of Chris's more commercial photo projects come from magazine stories, trade journals as well as the businesses of healthcare, education, life science and software, to name a few, keep him equally busy. Portraits of CEOs and company presidents from some of the region’s top companies show Chris's attention to detail, ability to work quickly under pressure, all the while putting his subjects at ease. These skills are equally important to him on any photo project, whether photographing striking architecture, hospital patients or inner city youths.

While photography has been a long-time passion for Chris, he has been a full-time photographer since 1995 when he started his business while living in Arizona. Many assignments have allowed for extensive travel, both domestic and abroad and great photographic inspiration stems from that travel whether he is shooting or just looking.

A great sampling of his work is shown in his recent book, Lighting Photo Workshop. This book is part of a recent series from Wiley Publishing that, according to the publisher, is "a practical resource for photographers -- from beginners to professionals -- on real-world lighting solutions from the greatest names in photography and digital imaging."
